Dražen Stojčić
Dražen Stojčić is an award-winning photographer and multimedia artist specializing in architectural and commercial photography. He began his career as a journalist and author, earning major literary awards before transitioning fully into visual storytelling.
As part of the renowned photography duo Romulić & Stojčić, he produced internationally exhibited photography projects, monographs, and acclaimed timelapse films, gaining global recognition. His work spans photography, film, graphic design, animation and 3D, with notable achievements including a Samsung Galaxy Store design award.
Today, he leads his own photography-oriented multimedia studio, collaborating with clients in tourism sector, architecture and design, while continuing to develop artistic projects focused on landscapes and visual identity.
Born in Osijek, Croatia in 1982.
In his early years, he was involved in writing and published the novel “Forbidden Area”, for which he received the Slavić Award at the Days of the Croatian Book for the best debut, as well as the Croatian Writers’ Association Award for best young author. He discovered his passion for photography almost by chance during his work as a journalist for the newspaper Glas Slavonije in the 2000s. Over the following years, he worked as a journalist, editor and photojournalist in various print and electronic media, after which he fully dedicated himself to photography.
In 2006, he began collaborating with photographer Mario Romulić, and since then has worked as part of the creative duo “Romulić & Stojčić.” That same year, they published the photo monograph “Osijek - A Love Story”, accompanied by a large-format photography exhibition and a multimedia project of the same name. In the years that followed, Romulić and Stojčić published several photo monographs and exhibited both in Croatia and abroad. They held numerous solo and group exhibitions and organized two photography colonies “Ars Danubia”, featuring some of the most prominent photographers from Croatia and neighboring countries. Both are Canon ambassadors for Croatia.
In 2012, they won first place at the Tourist Film Festival for the short film “Višnjan Observatory.”
In 2013, in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they opened a major international exhibition at the Council of Europe building in Brussels, marking Croatia’s accession to the European Union, titled “Croatia – Flash of Diversity.” The exhibition later toured across Europe, including Budapest, Brussels, Rome, Linz, Moscow, Kyiv and Baku.
Their timelapse film “Hvar – Into the Storm” (2016) attracted significant public attention and was soon featured on major global portals and media platforms, with footage also used in Eurovision song “Lighthouse” promotion. The creative combination of photography and film through timelapse has been a key aspect of the duo’s work for many years. Timelapse films such as “Misty Motovun” have attracted millions of views on social media.
They have received numerous awards and recognitions for their photographic work in Croatia and internationally and have served as jury members at various photography festivals. Their photographs have traveled the world, appearing on numerous Croatian Post stamps, winning multiple philatelic awards for the most beautiful postage stamps.
Dražen Stojčić became a member of the Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts ULUPUH Photography Section in 2019.
In addition to photography and video, Stojčić has long been involved in graphic design, animation, 3D, and other contemporary visual techniques. He designs various graphic solutions for clients in Croatia and abroad. In 2020, in California, he won the “Best of Galaxy Store Award” by Samsung for smartwatch interface design.
After the pandemic, Romulić decided to focus on his family estate in Baranja, while Stojčić founded Stojčić Multimedia Studio and continued his independent multimedia work.
He is engaged in fine art photography with a focus on the beauty of Croatia, while a significant part of his creative work is dedicated to commercial photography of architecture, interior design, and studio product photography for various domestic and international clients. He collaborates with numerous architectural studios, material manufacturers, and construction sector contractors. He frequently collaborates with tourist boards, hoteliers and magazines focused on promoting Croatian tourism.
In his free time, he travels and photographs some of the world’s most famous destinations. He enjoys diving, is a certified two-star diver with a specialization in underwater photography and since 2023. has been the president of the Osijek Diving Center. He is also a gold medal winner in underwater photography at the International Underwater Photography Cup in Rovinj.
His pet dalmatian, a female Croatian champion called Pika, has been an obsession and a frequent model in his recent personal photography work. He is a member of the executive board of Cynology association in his hometown of Osijek.
